Ding!

Second anniversary! Yay for us! We went to Bryce Canyon and had the most relaxing weekend we've had in a year. It was so nice. We got some nice pictures too. I get frustrated with pictures though, they just don't do Bryce Canyon justice. They just can't capture the scale and grandeur. I really came to love Bryce in the one day we were there. Inadequate as our pictures may be, I'm kinda proud of them. So here they are!

One thing that blew my mind was how it looks like little cities built out of rock. I could totally see a whole civilization living in the canyon. It was straight out of a scifi book. It was awesome.

Cool rock formation. There were a lot of them there. :P

Sam is cute. ^_^

Sam's smile is cute. ^_^

Its like peeking through the trees onto a castle.....

This is me being artistic and taking a picture of a stick. ^_^

This just has really cool coloring in the cliff.

Sam being pensive....

More pretty colors. ^_^

Its in the shape of a rook.

"The Arch" that everyone was swarming around and wanting pictures of. I thought there were cooler pictures elsewhere, myself, but hey. It is pretty.

Sam's so cute when he's being patient with my obsessive camera-ness.

He's cute when he's trying to smile for my obsessive camera-ness too. ^_^

I blame Sam. -_-

Cute little squirrel.

Hiking down the canyon picture. Remember this picture....

That's right, this is a frozen stream. It was completely frozen, not moving at all. It looked like it had been frozen for a long time. What's cool about this picture is at the time I was wearing a t-shirt. :P
More frozen stream.

This was a pretty dang cool arch.
Probably because we got to walk under it.

Isn't it gorgeous!!!
Just plain cool.

This is looking up a cliff. Again, the picture just doesn't do it justice.

So, I was hiking up out of the canyon and we stop to take a break, and I look to the side and say that's a cool scene, I should take a picture. So I take my picture and right as it takes I think wait, I recognize that rock. That's right, I took the same exact picture while hiking down, known to this blog as "hiking down the canyon picture." It is interesting how different it looks at first glance with the shadows.

Sam loved these little plants trying to grow out of wide expanses of dry dirt. They were just tiny little things and you would see one in 100 yards of desert, all by themselves. Points for determination.
More coolness....

We hiked down there.

I thought this looked really cool with the lights and shadows....

Pretty cliffs.
Lots of magnificence.
We hiked down there too.

We were pretty much done by the time we took the last two pictures. The camera was too. :P I went through two brand new batteries in 3 hours. >.> It was way fun though. We did the pansy hike this time. Next time, we're doing the full 5 mile hike all around the canyon. I'm stoked for it. And I will be sure to bring more than two batteries. Dum dum duuum!
